We are looking for a Category Buyer who would like to be part of our international team.
Duties and responsibilities
- Create and drive the category strategy of PPF to address changing consumer/customer preferences and the evolution of the technological landscape of the category, the concerned material conversion industry.
- Define and drive the new product related, cost saving, compliance, quality related project portfolio in the concerned category arena.
- Define the strategy and create the balance between cost quality and customer expectation.
- Monitor, interpret and translates to strategy relevant market information from the concerned category
- Monitor, interpret and translates to strategy relevant market information from the down-stream (competitors, adjacent industries, retail environment, consumer trends, legal environment etc.) markets
- Link, influence to all relevant stake holders (COO, CCO, Director PD, Director QA, Plant Management, SC Management etc.)
- Drives the end to end category sourcing strategy of PPF
- Animates the relevant buyer’s network in the countries, provides training to relevant stake holders as needed
- Defines and executes buying activities in line with the overall category strategy
- Defines and drives cost saving project portfolio in line with quality requirements
- Secures compliance to PPF quality standards during supplier selection and other aspects of the activities
- Responsible for managing suppliers in line with buying strategy
- Secures contractual compliance with suppliers
- Responsible for accurate and up-to date data management in the transactional systems
- Responsible to prepare and distributing the required reports and information on time
- Keep close communication to PPF management team with regular update of market situation, coverage recommendation, etc.
- Responsible to ensure continuous improvement in:
- Quality
- Total cost of ownership
- Payment terms/other relevant cash flow drivers
- Service level of suppliers
- Responsible for budget preparation of material prices
- Support NPD process by providing prices, specs, etc for TP calculation and product development
You are the right fit, if you have
- University or relevant high school degree
- 5-10 years’ experience in Procurement, preferably in Pet food, feed or food industry
- Good analytical and negotiation skills
- Fluently spoken English
- Understand how the category, quality, and purchasing each drive value in a CPG/FMCG business.
- Open minded & team player
- Natural cooperation with stake holders
