By granting a standalone Society pillar within PETS for the communities around us, we are aiming to express how important it is to enhance the life of people and pets for the communities we are operating in.

Community Engagement

Taking care of the people and communities around us is an integral part of our responsibility. We work in cooperation with governments, non-governmental and social organisations to support local communities and address social needs where we operate.

We are committed to making a positive and tangible impact by actively supporting initiatives that benefit both people and pets in our surrounding communities. Through hands-on involvement and locally implemented support programmes across all our operating sites, we aim to contribute to stronger, more resilient communities.

Targets:

We are committed to:

  • 100% of surplus is donated to shelters annually
  • 100% of sites have a partnership with shelters and animal welfare organizations

Achievements:

  • We created a Community Support Policy and Guidance in 2023.
  • We implemented community support initiatives across 100% of our factories in accordance with our community support policy and guidance in 2023.
  • In 2024, we donated over 1500 pallets of pet food to various  organisations across Europe.
  • In 2024, we established a collaboration with Greater Good Charities, donated 30,000 EUR, which in 2025 was used to assist nine organisations across nine countries.
  • During 2024 we implemented 133 community support initiatives.
  • Supported employees to volunteer at charities, animal shelters, kindergartens at several countries and locations.

Partnership with Greater Good Charities

We are proud to have partnered with Greater Good Charities, reflecting our strong commitment to supporting local communities and advancing animal welfare. This important collaboration enabled us to contribute a €30,000 donation to support impactful animal welfare initiatives across Europe.

Thanks to this grant, nine dedicated animal welfare organisations were able to address critical challenges within their communities. Among them:

  • OZ Na Konci Sveta (Slovakia) used the funding to construct dedicated maternity kennels, providing a safe and secure environment for rescued female dogs and their newborn puppies.

  • Nadační fond Psí Naděje (Czech Republic) allocated the grant to its partner, Voriskov Shelter, to install three new, safer kennels. Specialising in the rehabilitation and rehoming of dogs with behavioural challenges, the shelter has strengthened both animal welfare standards and operational safety through these upgrades.

  • LAV Onlus (Italy) further enhanced the services of its social veterinary clinic, which provides completely free veterinary care to pets belonging to socially vulnerable families.

  • Fundacja Mam Pomysł (Poland) invested the funds in renovating its shelter clinic and procuring essential medical equipment and supplies, significantly improving the quality and safety of veterinary care for animals in need.

Together, these initiatives have delivered vital, life-saving support to pets and the families who care for them.

By partnering with Greater Good Charities and investing in locally driven projects across our operating regions, we reaffirm our commitment to enhancing animal wellbeing and strengthening the communities that support them.
