We are looking for a Category Manager, who would like to be a part of our international team.
Duties and responsibilities
Implement a category‑management approach and build partnerships with clients to anticipate tenders and become the market’s Category Captain:
- Propose a comprehensive portfolio strategy aligned with market dynamics, trends, and business objectives
- Define the key development pillars for each category, ensuring full coverage of consumer needs by usage and across all price quartiles
- Identify the key success factors to support retailers in driving performance and achieving their targets
- Contribute to convincing clients of the relevance of our product offering, fully aligned with our industrial expertise and capabilities
- Identify and capture growth opportunities by leveraging an in‑depth understanding of the market, the customer, and the competitors
- Provide monthly reporting on category performance to senior management
Retail relationship management
- Develop business relationships with the various departments of their clients (Marketing, Purchasing, and other contacts) in order to build an effective network at all levels of the retailer organization.
- Analytical and advisory role towards PPF’s trade partners and their assortment;
- Analytical preparation of customer meetings and tenders with KAM’s
Business development and innovation
- Collaborate with KAM to recommend new formats and innovations to customers.
- Collaborate with Marketing, group category teams to ensure a consistent product offering, and recommend products and recipes that are adapted to our factory constraints
- Work closely with Key Account Managers to align retailer‑specific plans
- Cross‑functional work in coordination with the Category Management Group teams (top‑down and bottom‑up)
- Participation in European category meeting
You are the right fit, if you have
- University Master's degree or Business School qualification.
- Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in sales roles (Area Manager and Category Manager) within an FMCG / consumer goods environment or in a customer-facing role.
- In-depth knowledge of major retail chains (Lidl, Carrefour, Leclerc, Intermarche, Monoprix, Systeme U, etc.) and pet specialists.
- Proficiency in data sources such as Nielsen, Kantar, and retailer sell-out data.
- Previous pet food experience is a strong advantage.
- Team-oriented mindset and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Credibility and the ability to influence customers and partners at all levels.
What we offer
- Permanent contract (CDI), available immediately.
- Position based in Boulogne-Billancourt.
- 2 days of home office per week.
- Compensation: EUR 55,000-65,000 + 10% bonus.
