Transport Planner - BNL Market
We are looking for a Transport Planner, who would like to be part of our international team.
This role manages domestic, intercompany, and export transport for Partner in Pet Food. Responsibilities include organizing deliveries, planning transport across PPF countries, and coordinating with forwarders to ensure volume and service levels. The focus is on optimizing transport flow and costs, collaborating with customers and warehouses, negotiating with suppliers, and participating in tenders to secure the best rates and capacity.
Duties and responsabilities
- Organizing domestic, intercompany, and export transport
- Planning based on customer demand and intercompany inbound volumes
- Daily communication with transport partners to ensure volume and service levels; maintaining relationships with preferred carriers
- Managing transport orders via TRANSPOREON
- Coordinating with Customer Service and MSP teams on delivery volumes
- Liaising with warehouses on loading/unloading time slots
- Keeping records of transport routes, invoices, and price lists; approving invoices based on agreed rates
- Reporting KPIs: on-time arrival/delivery, delays, daily volume, costs, feedback, FTL ratio
- Participating in negotiations with carriers regarding capacity, pricing, and cooperation
- Focusing on transport cost optimization, truck utilization, and full truck loads
- Promoting synergies and milk-run deliveries between PPF sites and customers
- Reducing environmental impact (CO₂ emissions)
- Contributing to optimization projects (software, processes, etc.)
You are the right fit if you have
- Secondary education, ideally in Supply Chain, Logistics, or similar
- At least 5 years’ experience in Transport Management, preferably in FMCG; Benelux/France experience is a plus
- Knowledge of export/import transport flows
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills; open-minded and adaptable
- Operational supply chain experience with customers, warehouses, Customer Service, and demand planning
- Skilled in transport supplier negotiations
- Results-driven, well-organized, customer- and cost-focused
- Continuous improvement mindset and problem-solving ability
- Fluent in English; proficient in Excel and ERP systems (preferably TRANSPOREON)
- Flexible, resilient, and stress-tolerant
- Hands-on, disciplined, straightforward, and well-organized
- Quick learner, self-motivated, ambitious, energetic, assertive, communicative, and a team player
