We are looking for a Market Commercial Controller, who would like to be part of our international team.
Duties and responsibilities
- From Commercial Strategy to Execution: Support and partner the Market FD, the Market FP&A and Commercial management in the strategic and operational commercial development of the region and of its long-term profitable growth.
- Performance Management and Planning at the heart: the commercial controller will have a key role in driving the quality of the country/region financial planning modelling, notably by participating - and at times co-piloting - the local S&OP/IBP process in order to provide to the Market GMs, the FD and the Group HQ a clear, transparent and complete set of forward-looking financial performance metrics.
- Drive the country Financial Planning & Analysis agenda: Looking backward and forward – under the lead of the Country / Region FD, pilot the monthly management performance reporting process (P&L) of the Country / Region identifying gaps towards the set monthly, quarterly and annual targets at all P&L lines. Accountable for the full set of monthly dynamic forecast activities as well P&L quarterly bottom-up revision reviews, annual budgets.
- Lead the Management Performance Reporting: Manages the commercial performance data reporting framework & package for the Region and the Group, being on a monthly actual or a monthly financial forecast basis; leverage Group’s established data reporting frameworks and packages as set by Group Guidelines, with the set reporting calendar and deadlines.
- Co-pilot the Category, Channel & Customer Margins & Profitability: Copilot the financial performance of our product lines within their distribution channels and customers through margin optimization activities, with reference to price, mix & costs. Owns the Customer Profitability process vis a vis the Commercial Management. Bring fact and figures to the commercial management, explaining variances and gaps, as well as bringing forward a margin protection & enhancement agenda.
- Supporting the Group’s Pricing & Mix Strategy execution: Help support the optimization of categories’ performance by ensuring inflationary cost pressure is timely & fully passed-on to customers, leveraging various “art of pricing” tactical measures.
- Follow up margins accretion program by ensuring growth generation occurs behind the most profitable product lines, customers and channels. Similarly non-profitable products, customers are timely identified, and evaluated for turnaround, transformation or exit.
- Supporting month-end closing activities: Perform required cost checking routines and lead data warehouse manual data load in close collaboration with the Financial Controlling Team. Prepare monthly packaging tax declarations in collaboration with the Financial Controlling Team.
- Cash Is King: follow up customer’s cash based financial metrics by constantly following up Receivables’ health, leveraging drivers such as DSO, Overdue, on-time collection. Help support the Group Company’s factoring program when and where relevant.
You are the right fit, if you have
- University degree / Higher Professional Education
- Overall, a minimum of 5 years of Finance experience in FMCG or similar industries with a large industrial component.
- Prior Experience in a commercial controlling function with exposure to Customer Profitability management is required
- Prior Experience in Plant/Industrial Finance is a plus but not necessary
- Analytic spirit, fact based and able to lead decisions
- Goal getter, not shy to challenge the status quo and help taking decisions
- Ability to lead people transversally and develop peers, teams.
- A good listener and a great communicator (verbal and writing, English, other)
- An individual with strong principles, trustworthy, with a high standard of behavior and ethics
